Maria Theresa's Baroque Museum Cabinet

 

State Cabinet, Baroque, Salzburg around 1700/10 (museum piece!)
Walnut, burlwood and various fruitwoods finely inlaid with stylized flowers and leaves, scrollwork, fillets and decorative frieze. Prismatic body with multiple stepped, straight and protruding cornice on a two-tiered, fluted base with pressed ball feet. Architecturally articulated front with double doors and striking striking molding. Gilt bronze mounts and hangers. Iron lock.  
Lavishly patina-preserving/ -restored and shellac hand-polished.

Magnificent, smaller Lake Constance Cabinet

 

Magnificent, smaller Lake Constance Cabinet in softwood, ca. 1770, two doors. Very delicately crafted, on small original feet. Curved and bulging forward in the middle.

Doors also curved, with a beautifully carved vertical column in between with flowers and tendrils, pierced at the top and bottom. Door panels framed, with rhombuses and corner decorations.

Rare, beautiful fittings and handles. Interior with shelves, the upper section with half-shelves and compartments. Box body can be divided into 2 halves, held together by 4 turned wood screws.
